The Summarize and Explain options can be used in any course page to summarise or explain the main text content of the page.

NOTE: As of Sept 1, 2025, we are unable to control the AI features at a more granular level (i.e., at the course level or by activity/resource). This is something that Moodle HQ is aware of and are currently working on (MDL-83156). According to the tracker, it shows that this should be fixed with the release of Moodle 5.1 that will be available on October 6, 2025.

To prevent students from accessing the AI Explain tool when completing a Quiz, it is recommended to disable this at the site level until this release is available.
