Frequently Asked Question
AIM Studio is the design assistant for a course you can edit. The Design Hub is where you build the course: name the sections, add competencies, then design each section.
Open it
- Open the course.
- Turn editing on.
- Select Open AIM Studio. The launcher sits on the course page while editing is on.
- Select AI Design Hub.
You can also open the hub from Course AI Settings on that course. The link is Open Design Hub.
What you see
The hub title is AI Design Hub. The page tells you the suggestedorder of work:
- Design course structure — name the sections. You can add more sections later.
- Design course competencies — build the learning outcomes for the course. If this step shows “No learning outcomes yet,” you can still design a section.
- Design each section — design that section as a unit, a lesson, or a set of activities.
A finished step is marked done. Design course structure changes to a completed state after the outline is approved. Design course competencies becomes View course competencies after outcomes are saved.
Under Design each section, each section shows Draft or Published. You can rename a section with the pencil, reorder sections by dragging, and use the Edit menu to delete a section. Add section creates another empty section. Back to course returns you to the Moodle course page.
Your place in the hub is saved. Open AI Design Hub again to continue.
Note: If Open AIM Studio is missing, turn editing on first. The launcher is only on the course while you are editing, and only when AIM Studio is turned on for that course.
