Frequently Asked Question

4. Add course competencies
最后更新 16 天前

Competency Designer stores the learning outcomes for the course. Unit Designer and Lesson Designer can attach those outcomes to a unit or a lesson.

Start

  1. Open the Design Hub.
  2. Under Design course competencies, select Design course competencies.

If outcomes already exist, the button is View course competencies.

The wizard has three steps: Upload, Review, and Save.

Upload

Upload a syllabus, curriculum document, or subject guide. AIM extracts learning outcomes from it.

If Course Designer already stored a file for this course, you can select Extract from uploaded file and skip a second upload. You can also upload a different file, or select Skip upload and type the outcomes yourself.

Review

The screen title is Learning outcomes. Edit the tag and the description. Add or remove rows until each outcome is a clear statement of what learners should know or be able to do.

If your site offers a curriculum program, choose it before extraction. Typical choices include Auto, IB Diploma Programme, Advanced Placement, and IGCSE. Outcome codes are kept as written. They are not translated when you change the course language.

Save

Select Save outcomes. AIM stores them for this course.

Also add as Moodle competencies writes matching competencies into Moodle when competencies are enabled on the site. If competencies are disabled, the outcomes are still saved for AIM Studio.

If the course already has outcomes

AIM shows Existing outcomes found. It tells you how many learning outcomes and Moodle competencies are already stored. Accept and continue replaces the stored learning outcomes. Moodle competencies with the same code are updated, not duplicated. Decline leaves the existing outcomes in place.

After a successful save, the hub shows the number of learning outcomes and the button changes to View course competencies.
